AppreciHome ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to provide the service:

Account information — Your email address and display name, collected when you sign up via email/password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple.
Saved location preferences — The U.S. states and metro areas you choose to follow. These are stored in your account so they sync across sessions.
Push notification token — If you opt in to notifications, we store a device token to send you quarterly data update alerts.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect GPS or device location data.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
We do not store payment or financial information (subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple, Google, or Stripe).

How We Use Your Information

To authenticate you and maintain your account.
To save and display your selected locations and chart preferences.
To send push notifications about new quarterly data (only if you opt in).

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore, protected by Firebase Authentication. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled by Firebase Auth (Google, Apple, or encrypted email/password credentials managed by Firebase).

Data Retention and Deletion

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below. Upon deletion, all saved preferences and notification tokens are permanently removed.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Firebase Authentication — For sign-in and account management (Firebase Privacy Policy).
Firebase Cloud Messaging — For push notifications.
Google Cloud Firestore — For data storage.

These services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
